Grace's Dance Class

Gracie loves to dance. Her favorite songs to dance to include, "How Does She Know?" from the movie Enchanted and "Barbara Ann." She also likes classical music and loves the Pride and Prejudice Soundtrack just like I do. My sister Mary Ann remarked when we were in Colorado recently, "How does she dance like that with her head turned to the side?" She just spins round and round with her eyes closed, with a roomful of kids or all by herself.

When Blake started kindergarten she was really sad that she could not stay in his classroom and go to school, too. Blake and Grace often play school after school together and have a recess, class time, and snack time. When I saw a flier come in the mail for a dance class for three-year olds I was so excited!

We enrolled Grace in a dance class for four weeks, once a week at a nearby dance studio. The first day that we went we found out that not enough girls had signed up to keep the class so that session of class had to be canceled. To avoid our disappointment the studio manager offered to turn on some music and let Grace dance by herself for as long as she wanted. She and London and I had a great time twirling and dancing with batons and ribbons and I didn't even mind when the manager walked in while I was mid-twirl. Some ballerinas never grow up and I love to dance with Gracie, too. Her first dance class was just her on the dance floor and we had a great time. If I could find some of the songs we danced to on CD I would love it. If you know this song on the videos below or another that said, "Hop, hop, hop around...hop around together; Creep, creep, creep around...creep around together," and so on, changing the action - please let me know.

She tells the manager of the studio, "Look, it's the sign language for T!" Blake taught her this after he learned it in kindergarten.
