I can't believe I've forgotten about this place. I was just thinking when we went to the Discovery Museum that it would be great if there was a place in Sacramento where Blake and Grace could climb on and play with things in a world that was just their size. Larisa and I took Blake and Kyser to Fairy Tale Town in May of 2006 and either we were not too impressed, we thought our kids weren't, or I forgot all about it when I had a newborn in July. In keeping with my new plan to have a schedule, I remembered Fairy Tale Town and decided to give it another try.
It was so great! I would say they definitely loved it about as much as the Discovery Museum in San Francisco. The Pet Store in Elk Grove just doesn't have a real live goat, cow, (or chickens running across the road right in front of us). Blake climbed the stairs to Owl's House from Winnie the Pooh and Grace loved watering the plants in Mr. McGregor's Garden. We also loved the pirate's ship, the stream that circles around the park and climbing on the Giant's Shoe from Jack and the Beanstalk.
The cost was so small: $3.75 for Blake and the same price for me, and Grace and London were free. The park was almost empty, and I thought 1.) This is our own personal play place, I love it. 2.) I hope this place does not go out of business. Since my plan is to go to many of the same places this summer so we have a routine that the kids can expect, I decided to buy the annual pass ($40 for two people for the year). If we go 6 times, it can pay for itself. Anyone want to come play?
Fairy Tale Town also has a playground so if the rest of the sites were to grow less exciting as we go more often, any park is always a sure hit with Blake and Grace.

You have been so busy lately! I can't believe your story about the ferry. Poor kids and poor you being yelled at by the dumb bus driver. I would have told him that he is a very mean man and needs to work on his manners. Stupidhead. I also think that it is so cute that Grace found your mascara and put it on in the right spot! So cute! How is your schedule working out? Also, I love the look of your new blog design. It looks like you guys are having fun and handling THREE kids so well! Hope you are getting more sleep now! Miss you!
I love Fairy Tale Town! I had my 3rd or 4th (can't remember) birthday party there, as did each of my siblings. Fun times. The crooked mile is the BEST!
