St. Hope Dinner

A bank that does a lot of business with Robbie's office had two extra seats at their table at a Thank You Dinner for the companies who have sponsored St. Hope Academy, which is a non-profit organization that helps improve education in the Oak Park Community in Sacramento.

Retired NBA player, Kevin Johnson runs St. Hope and invited Shaquille O'Neal to come. Shaq said, "The people from Sacramento hate me." (Because L.A. beat the Kings while Shaq was playing for them.) All of the cheers for him seemed to say otherwise.

Each table had two seats reserved for Sacramento High students and I was so lucky to be seated by a girl from Sac High and talk with her about her experiences. This was my first chance to say, "I am a Mother," after she asked me, "So what do you do?"

Robert made two great business contacts and it was great to see Robbie in his broker/structured finance/attorney element. He happily and confidently conversed with the leaders we interacted with and so easily spoke what was a completely foreign language, to me.

It was a really fun night. My favorite part was listening to the St. Hope's Diaries of three kids whose troubled lives have turned around because of the influence of the program at Sac High, as it made me want to give our children an even better childhood and be the best mother to them possible. Thank you to Mom/January for watching our BB's, G's, and Little L.
