I am really excited for fall. Today was the first weekend that most of the farms at Apple Hill opened. We've been looking forward to Apple Hill season since moving here in January. We couldn't wait until fall so we went to a "make-your-own chocolate bunny" at one of the farms around Easter time. Today we went back to Fudge Factory Farm and High Hill Farm, along with Kids, Inc. and the pony rides were open, the lake was full of trout and the apples and peaches were ready to take home.
Getting ready to go --

Our first stop -- Kids, Inc.
Once a year, around the fall we realize that our children rarely walk on anything except carpet, tile, soft grass at the park, or concrete.
Today, as we walked down the hill to the Apple Orchard at Kid's, Inc. Farm, Grace started crying, "This is too dangerous!" She cried for about 10 minutes as we walked along the dirt paths next to the orchard.
London froze with her hands in the air, trying to figure out how to balance on the dirt.
Blake was fabulous and a great helper, fun to talk to and asked very sweetly if we could carry him once. When we said that we couldn't because both girls were crying, he said, "okay," with a smile.
All crying and talking stopped when we were greeted by this guy -
The pig and two goats at this farm apparently have not gotten as many visitors as the animals at Fairytale Town lately because they came sprinting down the hill to greet us.

We then went to High Hill Farm and Fudge Factory Farm. We ran into our neighbors there and they were so nice to take a family picture for us!
We watched a few of the fishing pros reel in some trout, which was fascinating for Blake to see. The fish jumped all over the grass while the fisherman attempted to get the hook out of its mouth. Then we tried the pony rides. They were a perfect speed and height for Blake and Grace and they each were able to pick out which pony they'd like to ride.

We left with some peaches, apple butter and chocolate and candy samples from Fudge Factory Farm. Soon the leaves will start changing and we can pick out a pumpkin to take home.
