Asilomar State Beach
The morning after we arrived in Monterey, we were up early so Robert and I took the kids to see some tide pools at Asilomar State Beach. We collected shells and climbed on the rocks that lined the beach so we could watch the waves bring water into small tide pools in between the rocks. We barely beat the rain as it was starting to drizzle just as we were finishing at the beach. It is amazing to get out and see another beautiful part of the earth that we rarely see. The ocean is beautiful, dangerous, loud, and full of life. The water was freezing cold but we were able to enjoy the view of the ocean while bundled up on the shore. I loved spending time with the kids and reflecting on what is most important as we threw rocks in the water together.

Just make sure Robert is careful on slippery rocks! I'm still in pain from thinking about his fall. :)
