Aside from its bad name, I had received a good recommendation for a kids' art studio named Art Beast downtown.
Grandma and Grandpa Blakely and Matt came to town the day after Christmas and we had a wonderful day on Sunday together with Derek Lemmon, too, going to church and having dinner.
We visited Sacramento on Monday, taking the kids to Art Beast (I know, I know) where they had fun playing the piano in the lobby, dressup and with a rocket ship in the basement, painting on the 2nd level, and dancing in the loft. London's favorite part was the painting, Grace's was making "Mr. McGregor's Garden" with dinosaur sand and dancing, and Blake's was the rocket ship and having Matt spin him around like crazy in an IKEA egg-shaped chair.
Gracie has a split lip in the pictures due to getting clobbered by a seven-year old on a bike at the park on Christmas night. She was running on the sidewalk and he swerved to avoid her but ended up in a heap with his bike on top of her. Uncles, Grandad, Grandma, siblings, and parents rushed from all around to pick her up and comfort her and the little boy felt so bad and cried as well. Gracie was super brave through her tears and very puffy lip and didn't seem to have a scratch or a bruise aside from her face.
While walking through Sacramento on Monday, Blake rode on Grandpa's shoulders and played "drive the car" with him, pressing Grandpa's right hand with his right foot and Grandpa's left hand with his left foot to make the car go and stop. We had lunch at the Pilothouse Restaurant on the Delta King boat on the river. We were in emergency diaper status for London, who used her last diaper that morning. We searched all over the car and could not find a backup, and with Christmas and family gatherings, we had not been on typical errands in a few days to restock. We found a Target in Sacramento after lunch at the Pilothouse and bought a huge box of diapers much to her relief.

How fun! I've never been there but it looks like a blast (besides the weird name) :) And I'm sure it was great to have your parents there.
What a fun Christmas morning!! We had Kyser pass out the gifts like Blake - that was always my job growing up. Happy New Year!
Grandparents are the best! So glad you've been having fun. :)
The Art Beast looks fun!! I wonder if they have something like that around here? Playing car on Grandpas shoulders sounds fun too! Ill have to tell the girls about that one.
