Slip and Slide

January gave Blake and Grace a Slip and Slide for their birthdays. She had an early birthday party with them before going out of town last week.

Blake and Grace would both say, "I'm going to slide!" and then drop down on their knees at the beginning of the slide and laugh, not moving down the slide.

Robbie and I dipped our toes in the sprinkling water until the action was too much to miss for him and he ran upstairs to grab a bathing suit.

Robbie's first maneuver was to fill his mouth up with water and spit it out on Blake as Blake was driving his Big Wheel around the driveway. The kids loved this and soon everyone was spraying water out of their mouths on everyone.

He then discovered a way to slide down the Slip and Slide without breaking any bones, even without the flexibility we had as five-year olds.

We didn't think we'd be out there for more than about 30 minutes and I left after a little while to go to a session at the Temple. A boy from across the street ran over and slid with Robbie and Blake and London (Grace had left the fun times for a nap upstairs) after I left. That night when I was getting the kids ready for bed we discovered some scary sunburns on London's and Blake's backs. Oh, sweet Bear Bear and Willis. We've been applying aloe vera and lotion liberally today.
